Is buying Pendle YT tokens on SpaceX xStock halal for xPoints? SpaceX pays no dividends so no yield accrues.

Pendle YT tokens are Haram regardless of which xStock they represent, whether the underlying company pays dividends, and whether your intention is to collect yield or earn xPoints. The argument you have raised is genuinely thoughtful and identifies a real fact about SpaceX, but it has three specific problems that make the conclusion wrong.
The first problem is that xStocks generate yield even when the underlying company pays no dividends. The yield captured by a Pendle YT on an xStock does not come exclusively from corporate dividends. It comes from the entire yield-generating mechanism backing the position, which includes securities lending income where the custodian lends underlying shares to short sellers and other borrowers who pay fees for that borrowing. This financial intermediation income exists regardless of whether the company itself pays dividends. SpaceX shares held in custody by Backed Finance can be lent out to generate lending fees even while SpaceX itself pays zero dividends. The YT captures whatever yield the position generates from any source.
The second problem is that if a YT truly has zero expected yield it would trade at zero price because the YT's entire value comes from the yield stream it captures. In practice, YT tokens trade at positive prices because the market assigns positive probability to some yield generation. A Muslim investor buying a positively-priced YT while arguing it has zero yield is either purchasing a genuinely worthless instrument at a positive price, which is Gharar, or purchasing an instrument with real yield potential from non-dividend sources, which is the synthetic interest product concern.
The third and most decisive problem is that Islamic finance evaluates the nature of the financial instrument, not the quantity of yield it generates. A Pendle YT token is designed to separate and deliver a yield stream from an underlying position. This design makes it a synthetic interest product in its structure regardless of how much yield it actually accumulates. The same principle that makes depositing Bitcoin into Aave for lending yield Haram applies here: the Bitcoin is halal but the lending arrangement built on it is a prohibited financial structure. SpaceX xStock being halal does not transfer permissibility to the Pendle YT financial instrument built on it.
On the xPoints specifically, you can earn them permissibly through simpler and cleaner paths. Holding xStocks of halal-classified companies directly in your wallet earns the base 1x xPoints rate with no compliance concern. This is the most straightforwardly permissible approach. Providing liquidity in spot trading pools for halal xStock pairs may earn higher multipliers and is conditionally permissible subject to the specific pool mechanics being assessed. Lending xStocks on Kamino for the 5x multiplier is Haram as that is DeFi lending at interest.
The intention to earn airdrop points rather than yield does not change what the instrument is. Buying a synthetic interest product to earn leaderboard points is still buying a synthetic interest product. The activity determines the ruling in Islamic finance, not the motivation behind the activity.
